Who We Are

Our Mission

Established in 1845, Liberty Hill Baptist Church exists to love God and love people! We desire to see everyone come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ and to know Him and  His infinite love! This does not happen by simply joining a church. It happens when the people of God mobilize to answer the call and go to a lost generation and tell them about Jesus. This is  the heart of who we are and all we do.

Our Core Essentials

Our Guiding Values Under the leadership of Jesus Christ and based on the foundation of His death and resurrection we are. . .

1. A Worshiping Church- We affirm that God deserves worship and people need to worship, therefore LHBC will strive to connect with God through prayer and praise (Hebrews 13:15; I Peter 2:5)

2. An Evangelistic Church- We affirm that the real need of every person is a relationship with Jesus Christ, therefore we will provide opportunities for outreach so that individuals may receive Christ as Savior and Lord (I Corinthians 15:1-4)

3. A Discipling Church- We affirm that growing toward godliness is the goal of our discipleship, therefore we will maintain and create ways to help people reach their full potential in Christ (II Timothy 3:16-17)

4. A Fellowshipping Church- We affirm that we will grow and minister best in the context of God’s love, therefore we will enjoy opportunities of wholesome Christian fellowship (John 13:34-35)

5. A Ministering Church- We affirm that the New Testament model of ministry is a shared ministry, therefore each member will seek to discover and develop spiritual gifts and talents to minister in and through Christ’s body, the church (Ephesians 4:11-15)

6. A Mission Church- We affirm that the mission of the church is global in its scope, therefore we will partner with other Southern Baptist churches to reach the world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ (Acts 1:8)

A Church that lives and works “on purpose” is much more likely to realize and fulfill the mission goals than a Church that lives and works by “accident.” -Tidwell
